Players of the Week

Week 2: Kailyn Graham, Pendleton Heights

Graham had a consistent week for the Arabians, with 14 points in each of PH’s two conference wins, helping the team start 2-0 in league play.   .

Week 1: Lexi Shelton, Mt. Vernon

Shelton averaged 16.5 points and 7 rebounds in two Marauder contests, a win over Franklin and a loss to 4A champ Warren Central. She tallied 22 against WC.

News & notes

Pendleton Heights’ Aubree Dwiggins had a big game in the Arabians’ Saturday victory over Yorktown, tallying 20 points on 9-14 shooting and six rebounds. PH won 49-45 despite a 9-2 Yorktown rally in the final quarter. Elizabeth Reece and Lea Alexander scored 14 each for Yorktown.

PH started conference play with a 63-61 OT win Tuesday over New Castle. The Arabians had four players in double figures, led by Megan Mills’ 17 points. Graham had 14, Kylie Davis 13 and Niyah Loomis 10. Davis also had eight boards. Cameron Tabor had 24 points and 13 rebounds for NC. Cloie York scored 16 points hitting 5-of-10 from 3-point range.

New Palestine has started 3-0. Jordan Reid tallied 20 first-half points and finished with 24 in the Dragons’ Wednesday win over Greenwood. Leah Seib averaged 13.5 ppg on the week.

Delta is 4-0 for the second straight year. Freshman Gracie Gilland averaged 16 points and five rebounds per game as the Eagles beat Alexandria, Hagerstown and Elwood last week.

Mt. Vernon has a 2-1 mark after a 60-30 victory over Connersville last week. Sydnee Perry and Abby Worley scored 14 points each and Lexi Shelton added 10 for MV.

Hannah Farrell has had a strong start for Greenfield-Central. She tallied 16 points and 10 rebounds in the Cougars’ Saturday loss to Noblesville. Addie Hill totaled 12 points and 10 boards.

In addition to the two conference games on the schedule this week, it’s a busy week with five Tuesday games. Seven teams are in action Friday and five more Saturday.

HHC teams are 14-6 against non-conference foes so far this season.
