The Mt. Vernon Marauders won their first-ever Hoosier Heritage Conference golf championship Saturday, May 15 at The Players Club in Yorktown.
The Marauders shot 335, beating Yorktown (336) and New Castle (339) in a close match. The top five teams were within 12 strokes of each other.
New Castle’s Derek Tabor won the conference individual title with a 68. New Castle’s Dillon Bergum and Mt. Vernon’s Sam McWilliams tied for second with 75s.
McWilliams shot 75, with Kyran Maxfield shooting 82, Aden Cappalletti 88 and Asher Cotton 90 for the Marauders to lift them to the conference title.
