Greenfield-Central clinched the 2022 Hoosier Heritage Conference wrestling title Saturday, Jan. 15 at Yorktown. The Cougars tallied 207 points to win their second straight title, beating Mt. Vernon (193) by 14. New Palestine (181.5) was third and Yorktown (174.5) fourth.
G-C had two conference champions – Clay Guenin (160) and Chase Gardner (170) and advanced five other wrestlers to the finals. MV had four conference champions – Carson Johnson (138), Aiden Kiner (145), Devin Kendrex (220) and Riley Anderson (285). Third-place NP had three champs – Bryce Doss (113), Porter Keevers (182) and Jacob Tweedy (195). Delta and New Castle had two each. Ayden Bollinger (106) and Neal Mosier (120) were Delta’s champions, while Brevan Thrine (132) and Jon Eberhart (152) won for New Castle. PH’s Blake Nicholson (126) was the other champion.
