Marauders win 2022 HHC boys track title

The Mt. Vernon Marauders repeated as the Hoosier Heritage Conference boys track and field champion, tallying 183 points to beat runner-up Delta by a 60-point margin.

The Marauders had eight individual champions. George Burhenn won both hurdles races. Samuel Wilson won the 3200, Tristan Trevino the 800 Keagan La Belle the pole vault and Andres Langston the 400. Burhenn, Wilbert Jones, Trevino and Langston won the 4×400, while Joseph Blagrave, William Morris, Daylon King and Trevino won the 4×800.

Delta’x 4×100 relay of Brayden Stanley, Johnathan Chimbanda, Abram Stitt and Quinn Backus set a new HHC record with a time of 43.34.

Delta had two double-individual champions. Backus swept the 100 and 200, while Stitt won both the high jump and long jump. Yorktown’s Mason Moulton was also a double-winner, taking both the shot put and discus. Luke Harber won the 1600 for the Tigers. All of the individual champions were from MV, Delta and Yorktown.
